Randall Wilbur University of Phoenix Upon entering the University of Phoenix I had attended another University and I knew that if I was going to accomplish the many goals that I had in life I was going to have to graduate from college. I knew that if I wanted to continue to grow as a person that the best way for me to do that was to complete my degree and finish what I started. I was always taught that anything that is not growing is dead and I did not want to be considered the “walking dead. I knew that I had to continue my education. Even without my degree I had begun to rack up many accomplishments and had a pretty good Job. I was running a program that I absolutely loved and was blessed with many opportunities because of it. I gained some experience in grant writing and was given many opportunities to speak at graduation ceremonies, church programs, and in front of the mayor. I was able to communicate very well orally. My level of information retrieval was not great. I still had not yet learned to be an effective student.
Most of what I was doing came from natural ability. I had the talent without the work ethic. My ability to collaboration was not very strong either. I did certain things very well but struggled in the area of collaboration. I had not been taught how to work with others in a group effort. I was used to doing things on my own. I was undecided as far as my career goals went. The only thing that I knew for sure is that I wanted to Pastor a church one day. That may sound simple but it wasn’t for me.

To me Pasturing a church meant so much more than Just being able to be in front of people and encouraging them. I wanted to build an empire so that people could be inspired and actually live the life that would encourage them to live. I wanted to change the world. I wanted to be the absolute best at what I was doing and be the best leader that I could be. Because I am very creative and I think outside of the box I knew that I did not want people to be limited to the four walls of the church but I wanted the things that I would be teaching them to spill out into every aspect of their lives.
So much so that people could look at them and would know that there was something different about them. So the church would be a workout facility, a recording studio, a place of learning, a cafe©, a bookstore, and many other things that would encourage people to go after their dreams. Any time a person is forced to do something more often, they are going to get better at it. I was already a pretty good writer but because I now had to do so much more writing I feel that my writing has gotten better.
So much that I am actually in the process of writing my first book. Another key area that the University of Phoenix NAS Nellie me Walt Is Walt collaboration. I was not g at collaboration Walt toners but with the learning teams I had no choice but to learn to work with people. I learned how to communicate and being understanding of the situations that people ay be faced with that prevent them from turning an assignment in when I think they should turn it in. I helped to build patience within me and made me a better person for the community that I seek to serve.
I can honestly say that I have learned how to research and my information retrieval is much better. For me I can only identify one course they prepares me for employment and it was that same course that had a huge impact on my personal and professional life. Since high school I have been a terrible math student and I have avoided taking math classes as much as I can. MATH 213 helped me in many ways because I was struggling so badly in this class. I did not understand most of what was being taught and I was frustrated.
I ended up passing that class because I kept working and I refused to quit. I did very well on my final and that class taught me that if I apply myself there is not anything that I cannot do. I was so proud of myself because I stuck with it. I has helped me personally and professionally because now that is the approach that I have for everything. I truly believe that if I show up I will not be defeated. This class made me believe in me. In most cases, most people have many things that they would change and do differently but not me.
I believe that the way the program is structured really helped me mature and learn more discipline. If it had been set up any other way it might not have been as effective for me. The learning teams helped me grow and learn how to work with people that were not all in the same place. And this program also shows that you do not need a classroom in order to learn. I have really enjoyed my time at the University of Phoenix and I would recommend this school to anyone. If it was not or this school and this program I am not sure that I would be graduating right now.
I have always believed that lifelong learning was something that everyone should do but now that I have completed my degree I have an even great appreciation for it because I have gone through this process and I have finally reached my goal. Lifelong learning is needed in order to grown properly. If you are not learning you cannot really say that you are growing. It is so important to never stop learning. People who stop learning fall behind the rest of the world and put a limit on the most wonderful gift that they have which is their mind.
In the next five years, I want to have a master’s degree and be able to provide a more comfortable life for my wife and l. I have not decided what I want to go to grad school for but I know that I do want to further my education. Hopefully in five years I will have a few children. I also plan to be an established Pastor and own a few different businesses that are extremely successful. Professionally I Just want to get better every day and have a great impact. I am striving for significance. I want to be remembered when I am gone. I believe that in the next five years I will be a New York
Times Best Selling Author as well. Because I like to learn, I know that I will attend many different conferences and workshops that will enhance my learning. This is a milestone for me but it is far from the end. There is still so much that I do not know and so much more of the world to be explored. I will continue to learn, grow, and develop so that I can reach all of my goals Ana UT D ten Test Tanat I can De Tort ten communal TTY Tanat I am In. I also want to ten best leader possible. Learning equips leaders to lead. People would have a hard time following someone who was uninformed, underdeveloped, and that is not growing.
Because I know that I am going to be in front of people doing a lot of talking I must stay sharp in all areas of my life. My mind is the most important of those aspects. In conclusion, the University of Phoenix has been good to me. I believe that this school as helped me in ways that will go with me for the rest of my life. I am a much better person because of the classes that I was able to take at the University of Phoenix. I have an extremely bright future and now that I have my degree, my future just became a little bit brighter. Thank you University of Phoenix.
