Hampton shifted World War 2 a whole new level. Major advancements in Technology brought new techniques and weapons in war such as Japans air force. Usurious Hampton was born in Nagoya, Niagara, Japan. His father was Shadows Taken, an intermediate samurai of the Nagoya Domain. In 191 6, Usurious was adopted into the Hampton family (another family of former Nagoya samurai) and took the Hampton name. It was a common practice for Japanese families lacking sons to adopt suitable young men to carry on the family name. In 1918, Usurious married a woman named Rookie with whom he had four children. He enrolled at the naval academy in 1896. Surprisingly, Usurious was American educated as well at Harvard university from 1919-1921.

He studied English and also became familiarized with the United States. Hampton learned about its strengths and weaknesses better than any other Japanese officers.
