A simple explanation of philosophy is that it entails a search for meaning in a universe??’ (Chatty, & Black, 2007, p. 318). I chose nursing as my profession because like to care for the ill. Taking care of the ill gives me great joy. I like to show my patients that I do care about them and I want to help them achieve their goal of being healthy. Eel as though caring for an ill person can make a difference in his or her lives. If they see that I care, then perhaps it will help the patient to continue to take care of his or her health. Also believe in showing empathy for my patients. Showing empathy toward my patients is a way to connect with him or her. Some patients just need to know that someone understands what he or she is going through and I always try to make sure my patients know that empathic with them.
Some nurses always tell me that tend to be too involved with my patient or they ask me why I care so much. I simply say because do care about my patients and want the best for them. I believe he core of nursing is patient education. “Patient teaching regardless of what medical condition or injury a patient is being treated for, the success of the recovery process will be greatly affected by how well educated the patient is about what they are suffering from. “(Rightfully Community, 2008).

As nurses we are suppose to teach patients how to take care of their health. We try to teach them about the disease process, medications and how to manage their day to day life with their illness. Patient teaching can be the key to teaching patients how to live a long productive life. I believe the focus of urging is the patient or the focus should always be about providing the patients with quality care, giving them and providing them with the support they need to take care of themselves.
My vision for myself as a nurse is that I will continue to be a caring and knowledgeable. Will continue to take care of each patient selflessly without judgment, and regardless of his or her race, gender, creed, or religion. I will provide quality care and give my patients the support they need to give them a better outcome. To live out my philosophy of nursing, every day I must remember that my patients depend on me to are for them, be kind, and be considerate of them. They can also depend on me to be their advocate. Ill also include family members in the care of the patients and provide him or her with the knowledge he or she needs to help their loved one. I will share decision-making with my coworkers to achieve the desired plan of care for the patient. I will continue to show support to my fellow nurse by being a team player. I will take accountability for my health. I will continue to exercise and eat right so that I can stay healthy so I can take care of my patients to the best of my ability.
