In regards to each of their unique contributions to the team, each nurse states that every member plays a vital role in patient care. The clinical director has the educational background that has provider her tools necessary to lead an interdisciplinary team while the nurse educator relies on her work experience and hospice knowledge to assist her with training new and current employees.
When promoting quality outcomes for patients both nurses rely on their own personal knowledge of the field. The clinical director is responsible for each and every member of the team and their performance on a daily basis. It is important for her to have well trained staff. As an educator, you are responsible for providing each team member with the current and correct information needed to succeed. She will need to ensure that she is aware of all recent changes to Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and that she teaches all of the nurses correct documentation.
Both of the nurses interviewed feel that nursing research continues to provide ewe and improved ways to diagnose and treat patients. I can see the differences in their responsibilities, but don’t feel one is more important than the other in regards to patient care.

Completing the interview process for both of the nurses listed has provided me a teeter understanding of the hospice field and the importance of being conscious of every aspect of care.
I feel that we may sometimes get caught up in our own day to day tasks on we don’t always take into consideration some of the underlying areas of concern that we may not be directly involved in. It is important for all members of the healthcare field to remain mindful of everything that goes into play when providing care to the public; the care itself, training the team members, documentation, ordering supplies, and most importantly, ensuring you are state and federally compliant in the day to day functions performed.
