Attention, PLEASE! After an excruciating minimum-wage work day at the rambunctious factory, arriving home to the luscious aroma of the fresh out of the oven red velvet cake would be paradise, right? Well… NEWS FLASH! Even if you had a moment to devour that savory cake, the agony does not end there. With five children to take care of, you scarcely have time to take care of yourself. If only you lived one day in pure ecstasy, then the idea of your oldest daughter taking ecstasy would fleetingly ebb like the sea. But you see her drowning in the sea of debt and you can not ignore that horrifying image.

Immediately, pure ecstasy vanishes into dust. You discover yourself trapped in a gloomy, forlorn room. “Parents disown debt-ridden daughter”, an article written by Johor Baru from Malaysia, depicts the story of Ooi Seong Chin and Yeoh Sew Chin disowning their 19-year-old daughter, Meei Shuang, for relying on them to pay off her debts. Especially with several children, parents just do not have enough care, support, time, and love for each and every one of their kids. Jealousy emerges from those who do not receive as much attention as the others. One child usually ends up committing illegitimate crimes in order to attract attention. He or she would start taking drugs, smoking, involving in gangs, gambling, and borrowing money from bad people. Demanding repayment, the bad people do whatever they can to get their money back. Finally, the parents discover that their child owes a great deal of debt to the bad people.

Unfortunately, it is too late because their child already fled the country. Distraught and clueless, the parents do not know how to cope with the unexpected situation. Depending on their last resort, the parents have no choice but to disown the child. Subsequently, the parents are forced to decide between money and their own child. I am sure that there were many thoughts running through their heads. When did she become such an unruly child? Who influenced her to do these kinds of things? Is she worth it to continue supporting?

What did she really want out of this? How is she going to live after this? Why do we have to survive with the terror of the loan sharks and their violence? “I want to disown Meei Shuang, our second child, as she has caused us endless trouble all our lives. ” Well, how come they did not disown her from the beginning? It could have saved their entire family from the current state of miserable despair. On the other hand, I know for a fact that some people desperately believe that humans can transform themselves into a completely superior person. My wife and four other children are sometimes alone at home and I fear for their safety. ” I do not understand why the loan sharks would go after the family instead of the girl, Meei Shuang, who owes the money. Obviously, the girl has no concern whatsoever for her family members. Trying to get to her that way would be useless. Attempting to uncover information about Meei Shuang’s location from the family proves ineffective, too. Meei Shuang should definitely take care of her own problems and not rely on others to clean up all her dirty work.

Meei Shuang caused trouble for her parents practically all her life. Finally, her parents said it was the last straw when she fled the country leaving them to defend themselves from the loan sharks. Her parents had no clue how their daughter consumed so much money from the loaning agencies so they disowned her. Even though parents love their children dearly, they are sometimes pushed to extreme limits. You should always think about your actions clearly before you commit. All that the girl ever wanted was attention, but she got less than she bargained for.
