Alex Deadlock Assignment #4 There Is an Infinite amount of Information In the world, and education helps you understand it. Benjamin Franklin once said, on the topic of education, “He was so learned that he could name a horse in nine languages; so ignorant that he bought a cow to ride”. This quote brings up a very important question, what is the point of education If you can’t use It In real life? The value of education is Immeasurable.
My education at Mount Olive High School has given me knowledge and understandings that I will use for the rest of my life. Even though it came later in my high school career, I have learned to appreciate and take advantage of the diverse Information available at this school. It kills me to see students that do not take advantage of the great education that is at their disposal. It also kills me to see students that are extremely book smart, but when it comes to the real world, they can not apply the information that they have learned.
I believe Ben Franklin was feeling he same way I do when he said “He was so learned that he could name a horse In nine languages; so ignorant that he bought a cow to ride”. It is a waste for students to take the easy way through high school and to not challenge themselves. For the first half of high school, I was that kind of student. I never challenged myself or tried In school, and that Is one of the few things In my life that I truly regret. After I matured a bit, I realized not only how Important education Is, but how Important It Is o be able to use it in real life situations.
The knowledge that has been presented to me throughout my high school career has prepared me for the real world that it ahead of me. I believe that I will be able to succeed to my fullest potential with the information that I have from high school. After I graduate I will expand my knowledge even more when I go to college, work hard, and take advantage of every educational opportunity I can. All of this put together will give me the best chance to succeed,
