Legends tend to glorify heroes. Take a closer look at Greek mythology. Find a myth that intrigues or interests you, summarize it in writing and explain why you found this particular myth interesting and whether it has any relevance to todays world. II. Quotes and the Greeks Note the title of this assignment is “Quotes and the Greeks,” so first relate the quotations to the study of this time period.
The quotes refer to some fact found in Chapter Two or Three. Some are quotes found verbatim in your book while others might require a little imagination to figure out the connection. After your research, explain who said it or who the quote refers to. Explain the meaning and tell why it is significant to the Greek culture. First find an artist from the early Renaissance featured in your textbook. Describe two of his most famous works and offer your critique of his paintings. Probably the best known artists of all time are Michelangelo and da Vinci. Compare and contrast the careers of these two Renaissance artists. Include biographical information, names of most famous works, and your reaction to the works of each. Which do you like best and why? Provide a web link to your favorite work by each or a page number reference from your book.

The object of this assignment is to get you to commit to a topic so that you can begin to think about it and to conduct research.
