John Adams said, “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. ” He said this during his successful defense of the British soldiers who fired upon the crowd during the Boston Massacre. His actions to represent the British soldiers proved that despite all differences, men of principle can act justly under the rule of law.
