Christianity is the world’s largest religion,[2][3] with about 2. 4 billion adherents,[4][5][6] known as Christians. [note 2] Christians believe that Jesus has a “unique significance” in the world. [7] Most Christians live that Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, and the savior of humanity whose coming was prophesied in the Old Testament. Consequently, Christians refer to Jesus as Christ or the Messiah.
