About twenty-five minutes after the professor began his lesson I had become drowsy and about to fall asleep. I tried to stay up but couldn’t resist. I awoke thirty minutes later to the ringing of the dismissal bell. The class was over, and I had felt horrible knowing nothing about what the class just learned. College can be a pretty tough place to get through, so know how to survive. Choosing the classes that seem interesting and fulfill your requirements is not always the best way to go. When picked my classes for the first time looked for the ones that peaked my interest.
About a week into the semester, knew that failure for most of those classes was inevitable and was I right. By the next semester I had learned to look for the best professors on campus. Talking to your adviser is a great way to do this. A great professor cannot only turn a neutral subject matter into something engaging but into something fun; while other professors may ruin the subject you enjoy most. College isn’t just about having the best grades and doing all the work. You have to live in the academic moment. Don’t astrologers caught up in any academic ennui.
Don’t waste your time!
Order your assignment!
Instead, focus on the intrinsic learning value of each assignment, paper, and projector get assigned; the grades will come naturally. We all sometimes feel tired of getting up and going to class. I remember how I would skip a few of my classes because just didn’t feel like going. Then during the next class that went to, I felt like they were speaking another language, because had no clue what they were talking about. College can do this to many of us because there is no punishment for missing classes. Even though you are allowed to miss class, you probably shouldn’t because you’ll e lost the next time you decide to show up.
Most class hours drop by more than half when you go to college. So don’t waste your time. Believe it or not, professors enjoy talking to students. Going to office hours is a great way to get through a tough class. Even if you can’t think Of any good questions or ideas, your professor can go over the lesson and help you. Always thought I didn’t need the help from my professors but was wrong. The first time went to one of these. Couldn’t believe how much had learned in such a short amount of time. Take this advantage to talk to a professor outside of the class.
Homework might seem like a waste, but it is one of the main ways to learn and understand what’s happening in the class. Given the realities of dorm life, it is the worst place to study because of the comfort and distractions. It’s far too easy to wander across the hall and talk to your neighbor, or to have Backbone on while you glance back and forth from your book to the screen. Try doing the homework at a library. I remember thinking that homework was just the worst part of the day and just pointless. Would always wait till the last moment of the day to actually do it, so it never sunk in.
Leaving me clueless when it came to test day. All colleges have opportunities for undergraduates to do research or to assist in large-scale academic endeavors, even for the students who haven’t been on campus for a long time. I joined lab study with a few other students. We would stay after class and do extra credit work and learn new material about the lesson we Were going over. When started going I really understood the lessons, and I seemed to remember everything from memory. Lastly, keeping patient throughout your time in college is one important task o keep in mind.
