Satire- Animal Farm Assignment

Satire- Animal Farm Assignment Words: 306

I see animal farm as a true to life, scathing criticism of the human condition. Orwell has managed through a simple yet resounding novella to uncover each humans underlying woes of the world they live in. The simple flipping of roles of nature in representing humans as animals, leaders as pigs, and the lowest of the intellectual chain Is an Immediate shock factor. Rowel’s simple yet forceful tone sustaining throughout the novel reinforces the flaws In humanity. Rowel’s targeting to the basis of the human system creates a shame in me as I read page on page.

I feel shame hen I read of how the horses who represent the most hardworking of the population is so ruthlessly taken advantage that the human condition has failed to such an extent, where hard work is not rewarded with what it deserves. Rowel’s biting; bitter tone hangs as a cloud over the reader as we progress through the the workers; Orwell has managed to make one thing clear; the human population cannot exist with ‘equality. The concept of a utopian society cannot exist because even though we are born naked, hungry and crying, our individual trait cannot work harmoniously.

Orwell questions our making, asking how intellect can be equal to physical strength and who determines what ‘equality means. Which greater power does determine, whose actions are equal, how does one equally share resources? And while yes, Orwell does present to us a leader, we find that equality is always overshadowed by primal human instinct, greed. Good and Evil, Rich and poor must always exist for there to be ‘equality polar opposites must exist for a society to function. And equality can only exist, if we exist as the way we came in the world, the same; bleak and naked.
