They did this because they believed that the nation should do its part in the AR, as they did in World War 2. They thought that we could win the war and Stop communism in its tracks before it reached Australia. The main supporters of the Vietnam War were the older citizens in Australia who severed time in the previous War. It was also people who supported the political parties because they believed that it there party would do what was right and what needed to be done. However as the time grew on and the Vietnam War increased it became obvious that the supporters were slowly decline ins as they joined the conscientious objectors.
Para: either objectors or movement Despite the supporters of the war, the Conscientious objects kept pushing for the right of choice and the freedom to stop the war in Vietnam. Conscientious objectors are defined as men unwilling to serve the military or morally opposed to serving in combat. However this did not stop the main supporters of the group to back down. These supporters were the mothers of the young boys being conscripted, the family members, and young men themselves. The objectors stood for many things. They believed in the right to choose to fight, to stop conscription, the birthday lottery and the Vietnam War.
This group Hough is was unnecessary to fight in the war and would just cause more harm than good. As time grew it became obvious that this movement became bigger, the longer the war continued the more support the gained. These people were mainly the public who originally supported the Vietnam War but decided that it has gone on for too long. They believed this because this war was the first to be filmed and shown to the Australian public and they believed that too many Australians have lost their lives already.
