The Scientific Revolution changed the western perspective about astronomy, physics, chemistry, and biology. There were so many people who changed the western perspective. They all found a new way of thinking about the physical universe and proved it. During the Scientific Revolution, Ptolemy, Copernicus, Breathe, Keeper, and Galileo all changed the perspective of astronomy. During this time, the sun was known as the center of the universe. UT Ptolemy produced a theory stating that the earth was the center, not the sun. Nicolas Copernicus then came up with a heliocentric model of the universe. Around this time no one knew what to think and wondered what was really the center of the universe. No one knew what to believe at this point until Itchy Breathe came along with evidence for Copernicus’ theory. Breathe discovered this by building an observatory and observing the stars and planets every night for years.
After Brae’s death, his assistant Johanna Keeper used Brae’s data to calculate the planets orbits around the sun. He concluded that the planets orbit in ellipse and not in perfect circles, which made people question religious and catholic teachings even more (Elisabeth Ellis and Anthony Osler, peg. 364-365). Galileo Galilee and Isaac Newton changed the western perspective about physics. Galileo formulated laws about the motion of material objects. He proposed the theory of inertia, which is that “an object moves or rest until something outside of it changes Its motion”.
More Important physic achievements were discovered my Newton. Newton explained motion and inertia with the force of gravity (The Scientific Revolution, Pearson). This showed people how many things in the world worked. This also showed what effect inertia and gravity have on every object or person in the world. The perspective of chemistry changed because of Robert Bayle. Bayle explained the effect that temperature has on gases. Bayle found that if you add/ change the temperature of a gas, it will cause the gas to expand.
Bayle also opened modern chemical analysis (The Scientific Revolution, Pearson). He lastly discovered that the arrangement of atoms determines the characteristics of mater. This lead to the outlook on elements and what they today can make up. Biology perspective was changed by the findings of Ambrose Pare and William Harvey. Pare created an ointment that prevents infection (The Scientific Revolution, The History Guide). This meant that Pare discovered what caused infection in the first place and explained It.
Pare also created stitches for closing wounds (Elisabeth Ellis and Anthony Osler, peg. 1 OFF anymore and many people would be treated. Harvey discovered the circulation of blood flow in the body and how the heart acts as a pump (Elisabeth Ellis and Anthony Osler, peg. 367). This discovery also lead to many lives being saved because then people could know what was wrong and how to become healthy again. Scientific advances made in astronomy, physics, chemistry, and biology all changed western perspective.
