Repetition is a way of conforming. When you do the same thing day in and day out you aren’t thinking of the future, you’re trying to stay where you are. Emerson tells of the acorn and the oak tree, he asks which is better. The oak is already mighty and full of awe, but the acorn has the potential to offer so much more. The same can be said about people is the parent better than the child, the parent already has wisdom while the child is still learning.
