Great minds, Great People, Great Leaders Queen Elizabeth, born on September 7th, 1 533, grew up to become a queen that led her country and people into their golden age. At an early age, Elizabethan life was very complicated. Her mother was beheaded when she was two years old by her father’s orders and her father was King Henry VIII. Even though she was King Henrys child and a princess, she was declared illegitimate due to King Henrys desire to get a male heir. But Elizabeth received excellent education.
She was educated in thematic, geometry, and was fluent in six languages. After King Henry VIII died, Edward became king for a short period of time. But he died and gave the throne to Jane Grey. Then Mary, Elizabethan half older sister, became the queen through popularity and overthrew Jane Grey spot on throne. This is where it gets more complicated. Queen Mary was very catholic and wanted to restore the catholic religion back into her country after King Henry Vic’s rule. At this time, Protestantism was already spreading throughout England.
Many Protestants wanted Elizabeth to be nee and this anger Queen Mary. She ordered a mass killing and imprisonment of Protestants and thus we call her ‘Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary soon died due to cancer and in 1558, Elizabeth was crowned Queen of England. Queen Elizabeth I was liked by a lot of people. She listened to the community and handled the religious dispute fairly well. She peacefully unified England’s Catholics and Protestants. Upon Elizabethan reign, she passed the Act of Supremacy, ending most of the religious fights and saving England from the damage.
She changed the ole of women in her time. She became the first women crowned king and ruled without a husband. She believed that she, as a woman, can be Just as powerful as a king. She proved that she was strong, not weak. She led England into a golden age by being careful with what she spent. She had built the English treasury back up from previous monarchs who had drained the treasury. For the longest time, Queen Elizabeth avoided war with other nations. She successfully brought Ireland under the English crown and defeated the Spanish Armada of 1588.
She encouraged literature ND the arts, sending England into its Renaissance. Writers, like William Shakespeare, grew in popularity and importance because of her. Queen Elizabeth was a strong and pure woman. She survived the complicated life and threatening plots to kill her and became a worthy “king” for her country. Toasting liverwurst born on 1743 and became the greatest black general in history. A man born into slavery in Haiti, but he was fortunate enough to have a kind master who let Toasting educated himself. Toasting learned to read, write, and learned to speak French and African languages.
Master freed him at the age of 33 on November 19, 1776 when he got married. On September 7, 1791, Toasting became a rebel slave. He Joined the Spanish army and then the French Army. He gained recognition and power as a general. Soon he started to build his own army to free the slaves of Haiti. Toasting trained his followers in the tactics of guerrilla warfare, and y 1795 ended slavery on the island. Toasting liverwurst had many great accomplishments such as creating the Louisiana Purchase, the freedom of Haiti slaves, and more.
He was the only black mineral to ever defeat three of the world’s biggest armies: France’s, Britain’s, and Spain’s. He set up the first legal code for Haiti and created the first universal school system for colored people. One of his famous quotes is “l was born a slave, but nature gave me a soul of a free man…. ” He showed history that status does not matter. Even though he was a slave, he grew up to become the most successful black general in history. He battled Spain, Napoleon, and Britain! He led the first ever successful revolution for the freedom of slaves.
These two important figures changed history and the way people thought in that time period. Queen Elizabeth showed woman power, while Toasting liverwurst showed that he became a general regardless of his skin color. Both these leaders changed history for the better. They unified their people and changed for what’s right. Both of these figures showed good leadership in valuing others and having the willpower and desire to continue and fight for their beliefs. It’s no doubt that they, Toasting liverwurst and Queen Elizabeth, were imprinted in the pages of history for everyone to remember and bless them.
