My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The first time that I read this book was for school, so I automatically assumed I would not enjoy it. I ended up being very wrong. I was not able to put the book down, it keeps you interested and wanting to know what happens next. In the book, two of the main characters Elizabeth and Darcy are destined to be together although at first they are not aware of this.
In my opinion this really pulls the reader in from the beginning, they feel a connection to the characters, and a want for them to be together. In all love stories, there is some sort of obstacle that keeps them apart, such as in Romeo and Juliet, the greatest love story of all time. Well in this case the obstacle is the characters’ pride and them being prejudice. This is also true in real life for many people, so the reader is able to relate to the characters. Also, there are so many different events going on it the story that you can never lose interest.
The Bennets have five daughters and their mother is determined for them all to get married, so throughout the book you not only hear of Elizabeth’s love story but also of her four sisters. Many exciting events occur throughout the book, so there is never a dull moment. Overall Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is a very good book, it keeps the reader’s interest throughout the whole book and it is a great love story that keeps readers wanting to know what happens. Even though I had to read this book for school, it is still my favorite book.
