They feel pressure to work enough hours each week in order to afford classes and other basic necessities. As a result, they spend many hours every day at work and are forced to sacrifice studying in order to earn a decent living. Even though the student is earning a substantial paycheck, their grades might be dropping due to sacrificing schoolwork in order to work. A student might also have to work long hours Into the night. Rest is just as important as studying and when one works part-time in order to afford school; it is something that they must sacrifice. The pressure caused by work is a heavy, conflicting burden on one’s shoulders. Students must react and handle the pressure accordingly, or they will succumb to it. Another struggling pressure that working college students feel Is the pressure to succeed academically. Academics are Important to a student because If they succeed, heir future will become much brighter.

A working college student’s goal is typically to either earn their AAA degree, or to transfer to a university and embark on their career Journey. However, they must work because they do not have the luxury of having their education paid for them. This results in the struggle of balancing academics and earning the money in order to pay for school and various materials. They must devote much of their time for homework and studying, because the results of succeed or falling will make a huge Impact on their future.

A working student eight also face pressure in building a class schedule that fits with their work schedule. Although many community colleges offer most of their classes at all times of the day, there is always the unfortunate event in which a class that Is needed meets at the same time as a person would normally be at work. This places a person at a crossroads because although academics Is typically a priority for a student, the need to earn a living sensually comes Into play. A final, and what some to believe is the most difficult pressure a working college student feels is how to handle a situation in which work and school suddenly intertwine. The typical working college student spends most of their time at school, or at work; with little extra time in the day. One of, if not the the most difficult task a working college students faces is figuring out how to equally divide one’s time so that they can earn sufficient grades, while also earning a sufficient paycheck.

However, here are always scenarios when even the most efficient students find themselves in a bind. For example, if a student is on their way to an important class but suddenly they receive a call from their manager asking them to come into work, they must decide which is most important to them at that moment. On one hand, the extra hours would be a great benefit for them so that they might be able to pay bills or or necessities easier. On the other hand, the class they were originally planning on attending might determine their grade in the class, and ultimately, their future.

The inflict and pressure to make a conscious decision on a moment’s notice is immense and not everybody is able to properly make the right decision. Another hypothetical scenario would be if a student is given an opportunity to submit a late assignment or make up an exam. The professor gives that student one chance and only one opportunity to do so. Unfortunately, it is the same time that student is scheduled to work. That student could get their shift covered for them, but a result of that would be a decrease in their paycheck.

In that moment, they must either sacrifice making a mailer income that week, or sacrifice their grade in the class. They must decide what is more important to them in that moment and endure whatever consequences they face based on their decision. These conflicts a working student faces results in enormous amounts of pressure on their shoulders, and not everybody is cut out for it. Working college students face pressures that often conflict with one another, but they must handle and react to that pressure appropriately. The decisions they make based on the problems they are faced can determine their future careers.

They have inflicting priorities because they have a desire to succeed academically, but must work so that they may be able to afford success. A result of this bind causes pressures felt in school, in work, and also having to decide which is more of a priority. Not everybody can handle that pressure but working college students are not given a choice whether to burden that pressure or not. They must willingly accept that pressure in order to accomplish whatever goals they have in their sights. Even though working students face many hardships, the results outweigh the struggle.
