This First Assignment is just an Identification of a Problem. You will explain the Problem and the context of the problem in as much detail as possible. Refer to the text book (and cite, of course) and define a problem at your office that you could eventually (later in this class) make recommendations to solve. The text book can help you decide what problem would be a good problem for you to try to solve during this class. Think of something you want to fix that you work with every day. Make sure that the problem is one that you can quantitatively evaluate.
