BBA – NU: Program Structure and Duration It is mandatory to follow the course regulations of BBA as stated in the National University Act, 1992. Therefore, like other institutes, the Academy provides only the tutorial facilities to the students of BBA under the National University. The instructors under this program follow the prescribed syllabuses provided by the National University. The exams are held twice in a year at an external center immediately at the end of each semesters. All questions are set, examined and the result is published by the National University.

Duration of the program: At least 4 Years, but must be completed by 6 years. No. of Weeks per semester: At least 21. No. of semesters: 8 No. of Classes per semester: At least 30 classes of 1. 5 hours each. Final Exam: Within the last 3 weeks of the semester. Duration of the examination: 3 hours each. Total (8 semesters, 4 years)| 40 Courses| BBA – NU: Admission Process ENTRANCE AND ADMISSIONS PROCESS An applicant is eligible for admission at the upper division undergraduate level by meeting the following criteria: 1. SSC or Equivalent and HSC or equivalent pass on 2010-2011 session minimum grade C 2. Demonstrate ability to perform at the undergraduate level. 3. Good command of English Language 4. Transfer from any National University affiliated institutions (approval must be needed from the both institutions and the University). THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS 1.

Application: An application is comprised of the information of all vocational, professional and academic background education. 2. Transcripts: Official Transcripts/Marksheets from previously attended colleges or universities/institutions must be provided prior to enrollment. 3. Photographs: 5 passport size Black and White photograph and 2 stamp size color photograph. 4. Application Form: Application for admission to the Academy is made directly to the Academy using the prescribe application form. Before making their application students /sponsor should read the prospectus very carefully.

It is particularly important that student understand the entrance requirements for the course for which they wish to apply. If the student is in any doubt as to their eligibility to join a particular course the Academy officers will be pleased to give advice. Students who are waiting for examination results, which will make them eligible for admission, are strongly advised to apply tothe Academy before they receive these results. The Academy will reserve their place on the course, conditional on their obtaining the required results. BBA – NU : Evaluation Criteria and Grading IN-COURSE TESTS

In order to monitor the course effectively and efficiently, a variety of measures are adopted. The Academy introduced an in-house exam system that incorporates frequent tests during the semester. The total in-course tests can be divided as follow which is later converted into 10% and sent to the National University for adding up in the final marks/grade: Attendance & Participation| 10 %| Assignments & Quizzes| 20 %| 1st mid-Term| 20%| 2nd Mid-Term        | 20%| Pre-final Test / Project Work                | 30%| Note: 75% attendance in the regular classes is mandatory in order to get eligibility to sit for the final exam.

Time: 3hrs|   Total | 50| 120| UGC Grading System University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a Uniform Grading Scheme, for the preparation of results, to be followed by all the Public and Private universities in Bangladesh from the session 2006-2007. However, Universities may use “I” grade in case of incomplete grade and “W” for withdrawn courses.

It is to be noted that, Institutions/Colleges, who are offering “Pass” degree would still continue their old making system. BBA – NP: Teaching Methods Consistent with the degree objectives, a variety of teaching methods have been adopted, More specifically we combine lecture, case and experimental exercise methods, At the same time, the audio visual aspect plays a prominent role in all three methods mentioned above, Finally, from time to time lectures are also conducted by the practitioners/professionals in the field so that students are well- acquainted with the recent developments and practical aspects of the field of work.

BBA – NP : Academic Facilities Academy premises provides a high standard and comfortable atmosphere in which to study and learn. There are Lecture Theatre, Reading Rooms, Mock Trial Court Room, Seminar, Library and Canteen. Library: The Library is furnished with latest text books, Reference books, all England Law Reports, upto date Law Reports, UK Newspapers and professional Journals with staff on hand to assist students. Reading Room: The reading room provides a comfortable environment for private study. Important daily newspapers and leading weekly journals are provided.

Canteen: The Canteen remains open for light refreshment. Semester Performance Report: The Business School is well equipped with School Information System. Through this system, we provide real time performance reports to the guardians in each semester and per request. English Language Special Classes: English Language Special Classes run weekly for students who need to  brush up  on their command of the English Language to cope more easily with their courses. The course is designed to meet the needs of our students who could be studying professional subjects.

At the time of admission if it is found that the student needs to improve his knowledge of the English Language, he would be required to attend the English Language Special classes with minimum charges. Extra Curricula Lectures: The Academy plans extra curricula lectures to supplement the Regular Academic Lectures. The Academy welcomes visiting Professional & Specialists speakers who come to address the Academy on subjects of interest relevant to the students. Academy Parties and Dinners: Social events at Academy are regular features of life and include the Annual Dinner.

Debates: Debates are held regularly on various topics and the aim is always to provide students with confidence and the ability to speak on objective we are determined to achieve. General Lectures: With the help of qualified teachers, the Academy provides regular class tuition to students of the courses. This teacher-student interface, the Academy feels, is vital for ensuring success in the examination. Tutorial & Revision Class: Apart from regular lectures, we provide special tutorials to students, immediately prior to each examination.

This takes the form of a Revision course, and involves going through the various parts of the syllabus. Seminars: Discussions on specific topics of the course, which are considered important, are held at frequent intervals, throughout the duration of the course. Question & Answer Workshop: Students are encouraged to ask typical questions, on different aspects of the syllabus. This usually takes place in the form of a Workshop, participated by teachers and students. Games, Sports and Cultural Programs: Students organize and participate in games and sports and cultural function regularly on occasions of national importance.

Tours and Picnics: Industrial and Academic tours and Picnics are organized annually. Parents are also encouraged to join the Annual Picnic.
