Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Assignment

Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Assignment Words: 1087

King’s dream had great importance because life was unfair and difficult for African Americans. Dry. King realized his dream, he worked for his dream, and he achieved his dream. That does not mean it is not still important to have a dream. For we all still have a dream to believe in. Having a dream is what inspires you. Making goals to achieve that dream Is what drives you. It Is Important to be driven, to have goals to achieve. To live life to Its fullest. I have a dream of us reverting to the ways of our childhood. By allowing others to be who they are, they re further driven to follow their dreams.

When you ask a five-year-old what they want to be when they grow up, their answer is typically something of their wildest dreams. Maybe they dream of being a princess or wish to be Superman. Whatever their dreams may be, they are beautiful, for the dreams of our childhood are pure; untouched by the poisonous crystals of others. The Innocence of childhood Is often pegged as naivety, when In actuality we had It right only in the beginning. This Joyous innocence is what characterizes easy friendships between children. I dream of these reindeer’s continuing on to our adolescent years and to adulthood.

I hope that by looking beyond a first glance, this dream can be made into reality. For “if you Judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. ” When Albert Einstein said those words he described the situation of nearly every adolescent In our society today. We are only keeping others from reaching their dreams. I’m sure we all have had little kid dreams: I wanted to slay dragons. However as you grow up the dreams die down. Not because you forgot them, but because you legalized they wouldn’t happen. The dragons win.

I’m not crazy- dragons are real in a sense. They are giant problems and everyone wants them gone, correct? Well aren’t there giant problems in the world? Don’t most people want to be rid of these issues? We must all work together to slay the metaphorical dragons, as Dry. Klan sealed them for his dream. We can change the world. We can slay the dragons. It was a lesson I learned as a child, and a lesson I have carried with me to adolescence- “you are who you choose to be. ” I dream that we all choose to perceive others positively, truthfully, ND Justly, so that we may lessen the hurt we bring to this world.

Furthermore, my dream of acceptance can be realized by advancing efforts to combat bullying. Imagine, ladles, being able to wear sweats whenever we wanted to without the fear of this stress over something as simple as an outfit has been ensued by the constant judgment we face. How about the last time you cried? As children, it’s normal to cry when upset. As you age, on the other hand, it becomes shameful. But who says you can’t cry because “it’s not manly’ or that makes you “an attention-seeker. People do not cry because they are weak, it is because they have been strong for too long.

We wonder why some people don’t talk much around others or have an empty look hidden in their expression. We wonder who upset them. We wonder how someone could be so rude and heartless. Then we Judge. Then we upset them. We become heartless. Don’t sit idly by while others fight a war inside. Join them in their war- help them win. It doesn’t take much- all you must do is assist them in their battles, and soon enough the war will have been won. The aftermath will be cleaned up, the inning of ears the gunshots caused will subside, and they will finally be at peace.

They enter a Golden Age of their very own- they build bridges to new friendships, repair the old foundations, and repave the roads they once traveled with confidence. They will once again be able to laugh freely, no longer shouldering the burden of shame they once lugged reluctantly. They will become one more person to turn to when it comes time for you to fight your battles. Simply by appreciating others for their unique qualities rather than pushing them away because of those same tributes, you will change the world.

Random acts of kindness, have you heard of them? What if someone walked up to you and handed you $100. 00 or gave away a $100. 00 gift card for food at Wall-Mart? What if we all decided to “pay it forward. ” It could be something as simple as bringing an apple for a teacher, donating school supplies you no longer need, or buying lunch for a friend. When you do a good deed for another and they say that they will pay you back, tell them to instead “pay it forward” by doing a good deed for someone else, and by passing on the good will you bread to them.

In short, showing kindness without receiving anything in return is a great way to appreciate others. In conclusion, my dream to revive the dreams of our childhood is important because people are Judged too cruelly as they age to fulfill their aspirations. This dream may be made a reality by not Judging a book by its cover, taking a stand against bullying, and by “paying it forward. ” By taking these actions the world would be peaceful and not as violent, we could have our own embodiment of Superman to come to our rescue, and the dragons would become endangered if not extinct.

So we must not Judge a book by its cover, we cannot stand by and let bullying occur, and we must “pay it forward. ” One thing I know for certain is that it all comes back to Judgment and how we act upon our Judgments. Many forget that Judging someone does not define who they are, it defines who you are. This is my dream-??for us to stop defining ourselves in that way, for us to instead be defined by the love we spread, as we did as children. For it was wisely spoken by Tenpin Goats, that “love is the absence of Judgment. ” Thank you.
