This speech mainly concerned the Memphis Sanitation Strike; this began two months earlier when the sanitation and sewer workers started protesting against dangerous working conditions, poor treatment and discrimination. The reason Marin Luther King Jar made these speeches is because he wanted to flax the inequality between white and black Americans. In this specific time in America, black people weren’t treated as fairly as a white person was. After a certain incident involving black woman on a bus ( which as when a women named Rosa Parks rejected the bus drivers command to give up her seat for a white man.
