Efficiency and effectiveness both are used to achieve organization’s goal but they can be different in many ways. “Efficiency’ refers to the amount of resource used to complete a task or product. An efficient company would use the least amount of resources to achieve its goals. In the other hand, “effectiveness” refers to the levels of results taken by employees or managers.

Producing high quality results would describe effectiveness in an organization. As an example of efficiency we can use a company, which manufacture Jets. The company builds both small and big Jets. This company expends more resources (raw materials, labor, overhead costs and others) building small Jets than big Jets so; they are efficient at making big Jets than small jets. To be more productive they could trade off big Jets for small Jets. An example of effectiveness would be when a manager improve sale and maintain them constantly.

This would make the organization achieve its. We can conclude that even though effectiveness and efficiency can be used for the same purpose, they can also be different. For performance, if the business is looking to achieve its goal by using the least amount resources than efficiency would improve its performance, but if the business’s goal is to achieve high quality results, then effectiveness would improve its performance. Either one efficiency or effectiveness can be important to increase performance.

It depends only in the business’s goals. Managers can improve both – efficiency and effectiveness – simultaneously. If an organization is being successful in using its resources without wasting it then it will also produce high quality results, which demonstrate an increase in both efficiency and effectiveness.
