5 Pillar of Islam in 5 Minutes Speach Assignment Words: 504

Respected judges and principal, my dear teachers and colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, Good morning / evening / Asslamu Alaikum to you all. In this occasion, I am going to deliver a speech on the title of “The Five Pillars of Islam”. Muslim people who follow Islam have five duties which are called the Five Pillars of Islam. Those are 1. Sahada-Testifying 4. Sawm-Fasting 2. Salah-Prayers 5. Hajj-Pilgrimage to Makkah. 3. Zakath-Charity Every Muslim tries to carry out these five things, and it helps them to feel that they are members of the worldwide Muslim community.

These certain five pillars create a strong sense of community, even though they may have never met, and live in different places around the world. The first pillar is saying Sahadah ??? “Laa ilaahe illallahu Muhammadur-rasoolullah” which means Testifying that “there is none to be worshiped but Allah, and Muhammad (Sal) is the messenger of Allah”. Every Muslim must have this declaration of faith at first. The second pillar is Salah that is worshipping Five times a day. These are obligatory prayers and named as Fajr, Luhar, Ashr, Magrib and Isha. These Arabic words indicate the different times of a day.

So, we have to pray at the distinct times. The Adhaan ??? the prayer call is called loudly from all Mosques for each prayer. A Muslim goes to mosque for daily prayers 5 times a day. If not so, he must accomplish his prayers at anywhere in the particular time. Muslims should face Ka’ba which is located in Makkah, in their prayers. The third pillar is Zakath. This is obligatory charity on the wealth of a Muslim. Zakath purifies and grows our wealth and helps to the poor among the community. Zakath has fixed proportion of wealth such gold, silver, grains and livestock. The forth one is Fasting in the holy month of Ramadan every year.

A fasting Muslim abstains from food, drink, and prohibited activities during daylight hours from dawn until sunset. Fasting process gives us health benefits as well as spiritual satisfaction. If a Muslim physically unable to observe fasting during the Month of Ramdan, he or she must feed a needy person instead of each day missed. Eid al-Fitr, a feast-day commemorating the end of Ramadan, a main festival of the Muslim calendar. The last pillar is Hajj. The pilgrimage to Makkah is called as Hajj. This is an obligation only for those who are physically and financially able to perform it.

However, about two million people go to Makkah every year from all part of the globe. Hajj provides a unique opportunity for those of different nations to meet one another. The annual Hajj begins in the twelfth month of the Islamic year called Dhul-Hajj. Pilgrims wear special clothes: simple garments which strip away distinctions of class and culture, so that all stand equal before God. The close of the Hajj is marked by a festival, the Eid al-Adha, which is celebrated with prayers and the exchange of gifts in Muslim communities everywhere. ==2011/11/01==haleemla@gmail. com
