England’s Government and the Royal Wedding When most people think of England they think of royalty, Kings, Queens, Princesses, and also Princes. In the united States, the president is the head government, in England there is not a president. In England they have a Parliamentary democracy with a constitution monarchy as head of state. Politicians are elected by the people and sent as Members of Parliament to the House of Commons in London. Parliament members are elected during the general election, which are held no more than five years apart.

The party with the maximum number of Amps in the House of Commons arms the government. The united States elect representatives and a president every four years. The Queen of England is England’s official Head of State. Since Britain is a constitutional monarchy, the Queen rules the country symbolically. The real power lies with the constitution monarchy and the parliament. Although the Queen opens the parliament session each year and the laws and statutes are passed in her name, she does not play any role In making any decisions. The decisions are made up by the Parliament and the representatives of the government.

The fact Is that united States and England In many ways are actually very alike. The English monarchy has a very long history. The Duke of Edinburgh at 92 years old, is the oldest living person in the royal family. The Prince of Wales, which is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh, is Heir Apparent to the throne. The Duchess of Cornwall supports her husband, The Prince of Wales, in carrying out his work and duties as Heir to The Throne. She also undertakes public engagements on behalf of some Charles of her own.

Prince William Is the elder son of The Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. On April 29, 2011, following his marriage to Catherine Middleton, the title The Duke of Cambridge was conferred on him by The Queen. The Duke was 1 5-years-old when Diana his mother, Princess of Wales, was killed in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry walked behind their mother’s cortege at her funeral. Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, (Kate) now known as The Duchess of Cambridge Is the newest to the family.

Her Royal Highness hobbles include recreational sports such as hill walking, tennis, swimming, sailing, and the arts such as photography and painting. Prince Harry is the younger son of The Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. The Duke of York is the second son and the third child of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The Princess Royal was the second child and only daughter of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. When her mother was Princess Elizabeth, she was heir presumptive to the throne. She received the title Princess Royal from The Queen in June 1987. She was actually known as Princess Anne. Her Royal Highness is the seventh holder of the title. The Duke of Gloucester is the second son of the late Duke of Gloucester and the late Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester. His Royal Highness is a grandson of George V and is a first cousin to The Queen.

He became heir to his father’s titles after the dreadful death of his elder brother, Prince William of Gloucester, He was in a flying accident on August 28, 1972. He succeeded his father in June 1974. The Duchess of Gloucester, formerly Biretta Eva van Dears Henries, She married The Duke of Gloucester (then Prince Richard) in 1972. As a working Member of the Royal Family, Her Royal Highness carries out many public engagements on behalf of her many organizations and in support of helping the Queen.

The Duke of Kent is the son of the late Prince George, the fourth son of King George V, and the late Princess Marina, daughter of Prince Nicholas of Greece. His cousins are to both The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The present Duke of Kent inherited his title after the early death of his father in 1942. The Duke and The Duchess of Kent handle a large amount of official Royal engagements. Each has a lot to do with very many charities, professional people and other organizations of their concern. Katharine, Duchess of Kent was the pungent child and only daughter of the late Sir William Worries.

She enjoys teaching kids and people the fine art of music. Princess Alexandra is the second child and only daughter of the late Duke and Duchess of Kent (her brothers are the present Duke of Kent and Prince Michael of Kent). Much of Her childhood was spent at the Duke and Duchess of Ken’s country home. Her father was killed in a wartime flying accident in 1942 when she was Just five years old. These are all the members of the royal family at this time. The royal wedding was a huge event in England. This was also a very big moment for the royal family.

They were married Friday April 29th in 2011. It was also reported that they have been spotted preparing a nursery, maybe for a new arrival to the family. It’s been an exciting year for the Royal Family with the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics. If Kate and William are expecting it will be very exciting for the royal family and all of England! In England they have a few differences in law compared to America. Of course we know they drive on the left side of the road instead of like us on our rights. French fries are considered chips and cookies are known as biscuits, but that’s not all!

In England hey don’t have states they have counties and all the laws are the same in all of the counties. In England guns are a big no no! You are not allowed to have any Neaps of the kind that could harm anyone. Carrying a knife like most Americans do if you were caught with it you would be put behind bars. The driving age in England IS older than in the US but legal age for drinking is younger. You can’t buy cigarettes, knives, solvent based glues and fireworks unless you are over 18. You may be asked to show an ID if you look younger than 18.

This is somewhat similar to the United States except for the age differences. You are also supposed to repeat “God Save The Ant. Here are some things Americans mostly don’t know about England. The people of England consume more tea per capita than in any other country in the world; they take many breaks and call them, “tea times. ” The city of London has a population of 12 million people, making it the largest city in all of Europe. Most police officers in England do not carry guns with them unless it is an extreme emergency. The oldest zoo in the world opened in England, in the city of London in 1828.

In the medieval times in England, beer, as known as wale, was a common breakfast beverage. Shoelaces were also a big invention in England 1790. England is also home to famous rock and roll bands like the Beetles, as well as the Rolling Stones and many other rock bands. Some other interesting facts about England include soccer it’s the country’s most popular sport. The average summer temperature in England only reaches about 60 degrees. Some of England’s most popular dishes have unusual names such s spotted dick, bangers and mash, or toad in the hole.

Many people from other countries claim that England has the worst food choices, but the people that live in England highly disagree. In England, school Is way different then in the United States. Children start Primary School when they are 5 years old, many will have been to Preschool before that. As like The United States. At the age of 11, in England children go to a Secondary school until they are 16. It depends on the school and the lessons whether the class moves or the teachers move. Subjects such as sciences will usually be taken in a vibratory type room which is specifically intended for scientific use.

When England students turn 16, after taking exams General Certificate of Secondary Education GEESE, the student either stops education or they can go into Job training or go on to a College. In England they do not have scholarships. The education is free to anyone in England up to the age of 18. Overall England is a very unique country in its own ways Just as our United States. It’s a very nice place to visit one day and to experience the culture differences and the government differences. These were the reasons why England does what they do or their country.
