Global Warming: Facts About Global Warming Assignment Words: 1786

In a Global Warming Essay the writer can mention: Causes of Global Warming: * Global warming has increased extensively since the Industrial Revolution. These changes occur due to increased burning of fossil fuels and other human activities. The discharge of green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc. Into nature (Also see Nature Essay) is another reason for rising temperature of earth. ;k Buildings, both commercial and residential represent a larger source of global warming pollution than cars and trucks because they require a lot of fuel to be burnt which emits a large amount of carbon dioxide. Effects of Global Warming: Increase of temperature on the earth: * Changes in temperature increase the frequency and intensity of some severe weather events, like floods, droughts and tornadoes. * Lower agricultural yields and species extinctions are caused by Global Warming. * Rise of sea levels: * Sea levels are rising due to thermal expansion of the ocean, along with melting of land ice. * The total power of cyclones has increased noticeably because their average intensity and duration have increased. The Greenhouse Effect: * CO is produced by burning fossil fuel and other activities such as moment production and tropical deforestation. * The role of humans in Green House Effect is as follows: * Burning natural gas, coal and oil * Some farming practices * Factories producing long-lasting industrial gases * Deforestation * Population growth Each of the above should be essentially explained in detail in a Global Warming Essay. Many people throughout the world are still unaware of the conditions our earth is facing.

It is really important to bring this situation in notice and protect our environment from drastic, hazardous and unhealthy climatic effects, which can be done by writing successes. Prevention of Global Warming: * There may be hundreds of small things or activities of our daily life which contribute to global warming. This includes: * Riding your bike, and buying your goods from the most local sources available. * Growing your own food instead of importing it. * Cleaning or replacing filters on your furnace. * Reusing your shopping bag. Using recycled products, etc. * Increasing the use of Solar Energy also helps in minimizing power consumptions to huge extents and the us, preventing your contribution to global warming. In today’s industrial world where total reduction in the reduction of harmful gases and wastes is next to impossible, growing leafy trees in high numbers is a mandatory solution for preventing the rise in heat. A Global Warming Shouldered point out many such things and explain how they can be used properly to save energy, and to some extent, lower down the earth’s temperature.

Global Warming Essay As the delicate balance of time moves on, slight differences in the weather can be noticed. Anyone can See that there is a shift in the balance Of the environment; heat waves, hurricanes, tsunamis and the like are occurring faster than ever. Given the name of “global warming”, it is a problem on a world wide scale and only the cooperation of everyone can it be fixed or at least slowed down. With the heat of the Earth rising, national landmarks as well as complete ecosystems are fading out, and the only way to help stop this is to be aware of global warming.

If anyone had the time to look into it, people could easily see what is happening in our world right now; glaciers are melting, lakes are drying up, and mountains are becoming barren. It is not just a climate shift like some scientists would like you to believe, nor is it just a jugular occurrence in the grander scheme of the world. It is everyone’s doing. The burning of fossil fuels and usage of electricity is sending high amounts of carbon dioxide (CO) into the ozone layer. The CO that is emitted by humans gets stuck in the ozone layer.

Once there, it traps in UP rays that fly back down to earth and increase the temperature of certain areas. This is essentially the theory of Global Warming. The facts also help to prove this theory. In the sass’s, scientists began sending climate balloon sensors into the sky to try and capture any information they could about the ozone layer. They categorized the data and by 2006, they realized that the levels of CO in the ozone layer was rising exponentially. This would account for some of the awkward weather patterns the Earth has seen the past decade or two.

In fact, those weather patterns are great indicators fatwa is going on in the world’s atmosphere. Global warming is the warming near the earth’s surface that results when the earth’s atmosphere traps the sun’s heat. The earth is getting warmer. The changes are small, so far, but they are expected to grow and speed up. Within the next fifty to one hundred years, the earth may be hotter than it has been in the past million years. As oceans warm and glaciers melt, land and cities along coasts may be flooded. Heat and drought may cause forests to die and food crops to fail.

Global warming will affect weather every”here, plants and animals everywhere, people everywhere; humans are warming the earth’s atmosphere by burning fuels, cutting down forest, and by taking part in other activities that release certain heat trapping gases into the air. One major cause of global warming is the use of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas that were formed from the remains of plant material deposited during the earth’s carboniferous period. We have known for only a few thousand years that coal, oil, and natural gas can be burned to provide energy.

It was not until the mid-1 adds, however, that we began to burn very large quantities of these fossil fuels. The worldwide consumption of fossil fuel has increased dramas Unfortunately, burning fossil fuels is not the only thing that we humans are doing to increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In many parts of the world today, forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate. Enormous numbers of trees are being cut down, both to provide timber and to clear the land for farming or ranching. This destructive process is called deforestation.

In order to clear forests for agriculture, people cut down and burn all the trees in area. When the flames die down, nothing is left but acres of blackened, lifeless countryside. The fire destroys all the plants and kills or drives off the animals. Because there has been little attempt to replant trees in deforested areas, the world’s forests are spearing very quickly. Global warming is an Increase in the earth’s temperature due to fossil fuels, industry, and agricultural processes caused by human, natural, and other gas emissions. (Melissa Phillips). This results in an increased emission Of greenhouse gases. Caroline Stuntman). Short-wave solar radiation sinks into the Earth’s atmosphere and warms its surface; while elongate infrared radiation emitted by earth’s surface is absorbed, and then re-emitted by trace gases. (Brent C. Will white) Climate changes occur in our earth’s atmosphere due to a buildup of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases can occur naturally as well as a result of human activities. (Melissa Phillips). Problems can occur when higher concentrations of greenhouse gases are present in our atmosphere because they have enhanced our earth’s heat trapping capability. (Anne Rector).

There are many misconceptions about global warming. Some believe that pollution causes global warming, but the fact is global warming is the result of burning fossil fuels, coal, and oil that release carbon dioxide. Another misconception is nuclear power causes climate change. Nuclear power actually reduces emissions of carbon dioxide when seed in place of coal. Some believe that global warming means that it will become warmer all over. The name is misleading because in some places, it will actually become colder. The majority of scientists believe global warming is a process underway and that it is human-induced. Misty Thompson). The greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. These gases occur naturally. The Earth “uses” those gases to warm its surface. (Misty Thompson). Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere when solid waste, fossil fuels, wood, and wood products are burned. Each roundhouse gas absorbs heat differently. If natural gases did not occur, the temperatures would be 91. 4 degrees cooler than the current temperatures. These gases trap heat and cause the greenhouse effect, rising global temperatures. (Hide Streets).

Human activities add to the levels of these gases, causing more problems. The burning of solid waste, fossil fuels, and wood products are major causes. Automobiles, heat from homes and businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today’s carbon dioxide emissions, 25% of methane, and 20% of the nitrous oxide emissions. The increase in agriculture, deforestation, landfills, industrial production, and mining contribute a significant share of emissions too The gases released into the atmosphere are tracked by emission inventories.

An emission inventory counts the amount of air pollutants discharged into the atmosphere. These emission inventories are used by many organizations. NASA and meteorologists also use them {Hide Streets). The Centers for Disease Control have been involved in studying global warnings effect on human health. Global warming is a danger to a humans health. Its affect on limited can adversely affect humans. Plagues have been attributed to global warming. An increase in temperature can result in a longer life cycle for diseases or the agents spreading them.

Living in a warm area makes egg production a quicker process. Global warming will lead to more precipitation, which enables infectious diseases to be more easily contracted and spread. Effects of global warming on human health might not be immediately detected. (Symons Salisbury). Birds are a species that will be affected by a change in the climate. Global warming might result in birds finding a more armament home in northern areas in the Northern Hemisphere. The ecosystems of fish will be affected by global warming in a variety of ways. The chemical composition of water could be changed. Symons Salisbury). Fish may migrate to different areas. Other animals could be affected also due to changes in climate and habitat. (Misty Thompson). Nature will be affected in many ways also. In Spain, more than 2. 2 million acres of forest have burned since 1 994, due to increasingly warm temperatures. Temperatures recorded in Tibet are at an excessive high and length. Rising seas in Bermuda ND reported high sea level rises in Hawaii are attributed to global warming. When temperatures are on the increase, the tides and waves get higher.
