These qualities are a person’s precious resources which will never be exhausted and only give benefit in our daily life.
There are many good qualities that one can possess. Here we will be discussing some of those qualities but not in order of importance. These qualities are more or less important and necessary in different stages of life. They are as follows: • Honesty: Honesty is the human quality of communicating and acting truthfully related to the truth as a value. Superficially, honesty means simply stating facts and views as best one truly believes them to be. It includes both honesty to others, and to oneself and about one’s own motives and inner reality. It is the volition of the individual not to be displaced from the right way.
Honesty has no other alternative. • Truthfulness: Truthfulness means to speak the truth habitually. It is one of the greatest human virtues. In fact, it is the essence of all virtues, implying not only truthfulness in speech but also strength of mind, moral courage, honesty, and many other qualities. A truthful man has a clear conscience and does not fear anybody. So it’s important to maintain truthfulness in our every sphere of life. • Punctuality: Life is ruled by time. As a result, time always passes by. What only remains are what are done during this time.
Only punctuality can ensure the proper utilization of time. Punctuality means doing the right thing in the right time, ensuring the least possible wastage of time. To make life successful punctuality is a necessity. In a metaphorical sense, punctuality is binding time in work and achievements. • Modesty: Modesty is the successful outcome of man’s knowledge. Modesty is the expression of gentleness, friendliness, and lawful attitude in man’s conduct and behavior. It is one of the most important and rarest qualities of humans. It is the behavioral and social outcome of a wise and satisfied mind.
It ensure the balanced and growth of man’s mind, and spreads it socially in a balanced way. Nothing can substitute the appeal of modesty to his social and mental perfection. • Patriotism: Patriotism is man’s inherent characteristic. The love that one has for his country is full of gratefulness, dutifulness, and responsibility. Patriotism is pure love. It is more than human love for other individual human beings. Since all of one’s achievement and wealth are a contribution to him by his country, a patriot never hesitates to give away his wealth, power, reputation even his life for the good of his country.
Thus patriotism becomes a part of one’s own identity. To be more specific, the characteristics that ornament patriotism include self-devotion, boldness, simplicity, respect, responsibility, gratefulness, and unselfishness. • Perseverance: Perseverance is to continue to do what can never be done. It is the unique precondition to success in life. Perseverance helps us do what we otherwise would consider impossible to do. In the modern world there are competitions in education, economy, politics, science, and even friendship building. Therefore, whatever our goals are we can achieve them by being perseverant.
It is obvious that perseverance is needed not only in the individual level, but also in social and national levels. • Smartness: Smartness is the ability to learn, think and respond quickly. It is the outcome of someone’s education, family background and religious teachings. One needs not to be good looking, rich and well educated if he/she possess smartness. This quality is actually a blend of good manner, intelligence, nice appearance and exhibiting intellectual knowledge when it’s needed. Smartness helps a person to reach at the pinnacle of success. All the successful persons on this earth were more or less smart.
They had to possess it to build up a nice and positive image towards their societies. In addition to a smart person is capable of working and thinking intelligently. He doesn’t need to seek others help for the completion of his tasks. It’s best defined as the ability to regulate one’s conduct by principle and sound judgment, rather than by impulse, desire, or social custom.
Self-discipline may be summarized in one word: obedience. To exercise self-discipline is to avoid evil by staying within the bounds of God’s law. Since self-discipline is so important, it is necessary to know how to develop it. Learning self-discipline in the little things of life prepares the way for big successes. On the other hand, those who are undisciplined in small matters will likely be undisciplined in more important issues. One should be self-disciplined from his/her childhood. A self-disciplined person is assured of getting success in all paths of life. • Patience:
Patience is the ability to endure waiting, delay or provocation without being annoyed. It is one of the noblest virtues that help people to face any kind of danger and adverse issues with courage, endurance and righteousness. Most of the major religions emphasized on patience because it can help its respective followers to go closer to their almighty. A person has to be patient with all things but more importantly he needs to be patient with himself. Being able to wait is very hard sometimes but with determination and contemplation one can easily possess this quality and exercise it in his social life. Mercy: Mercy is an act of kindness, compassion towards others. Its a tendency from personal character to act compassionately; to be ruthful, to show forbearance or kindness. Mercy is grace’s effects on justice. It is rooted in love. A person can show forbearance to his offender when he has this quality. In this world, if we had shown a little more mercy towards mass people then we would not have experienced so many anarchies. People who are on powerful positions should possess this quality in order to establish noble examples for others.
All the great men in the past had set many examples of mercies. Being revengeful doesn’t make a person courageous however showing mercies can differentiate someone from others. Conclusion: All the qualities make a better human being. These are the feathers of a crown which all together make a ‘good character’. At the end of the day we all have to face ourselves alone and only these good qualities bring us the love of God which we desperately need. Therefore we all should try our level best to possess these qualities to get success in our personal, social and national life.
