Although that each of these theories has differ f motivation they are not contradictory to one another. Looking theories from my life experiences through school and in the work will help demonstrate how these theories do not contradict each The cognitive evaluation theory states that when offering “extrinsic example pay) are used to reward performance, intrinsic rewards enjoyment of work itself decreases. This happens because the mind loss of control over their behavior and feels less motivated by the “An intrinsic reward is when you feel better about yourself because accomplished something”.

It is the knowledge that you did some o made somebody’s day better, but you have no physical item what you did. An extrinsic reward is an award that is physically gig accomplishing something, and you can hang it on your wall and s that you did something. The Reinforcement theory states that an individual’s behavior is a its consequences”. It is based on the “law of effect”. An individual’ with a positive outcome tends to be repeated. But an individual’s negative consequences tends not to be repeated. “This theory of overlooks the internal state of an individual.

It focuses totally on hen that individual takes some action”. The Expectancy theory is based on the theory “that an individual an increase in motivation when he or she believe that effort will I performance, that good performance will lead to organizational r bonus, salary increase, or a promotion) and that these rewards WI personal goals”. For example, if an employee believes that by word will get a good performance review, and that good performance r to a desired promotion, then they will be motivated to work hard. He employee thinks the promotion will be given to the employee ewer, then they will be less motivation for that employee to word Thinking back on my education experience’s some examples the would prove that I would be less motivated by the enjoyment of I something new and would work to achieve a higher grade. For e have an exam the teacher in the course will provide an outline for the exam. When the time comes to study for the exam will use t study since that is the material that will be on the exam. Rather t the material and applying to my real life situations.

Applying the theory to my education experiences would imply that when there assignment the “law of effect” would take place in this situation. F one of my first college classes we were assigned a group assigns do not enjoy working in groups to rely on others for my mark. In t control of the group assignment. I worked hard on my part of the assignment and made sure I was the person who finalizes the project to make sure every is done correctly. This assignment resulted in a high group mark. The next Tim had a group assignment I made sure I had major rolls in the assignment since believe it will positively affect my mark.

The more likely my effort will cause a positive outcome the more likely am to do it. This also applies for a student does not put in the effort for a group assignment because they feel they can r on the others to get a a good mark. If the group gets a good mark the next Tim that student is working with a group they will believe that they don’t need to p in an effort and still will receive a good mark. In this situation it is reinforced t the outcome will be a good mark. This theory however does not take into consideration that the student may want to do the work because they may WA o learn.

The expectancy theory would prove that in college my efforts that I put into my schoolwork will help me achieve a passing grade, that grade will get me a diploma and that the diploma will help me get a good job after college. If i believe studying hard an participating in class will get me a good grade then I will behave that way. Been college student you have to believe that getting good grades will help you in t long-run to get a better job in the future. Without believing this I wont be motivated to put in the extra effort for better marks.

Looking at the above examples of my own life experiences I do not agree that cognitive evaluation theory contradicts the expectancy and the reinforcement theory. These examples all have a similar behaviors they also can be explain by other theories. None of theories is completely straightforward because of their inabilities to predict all behaviors of each individual. When discussing what motivates human behavior it is difficult to find just one theory that can characterize all individuals since all individuals have their own complications.
