Hobbies Hobbies are things you do in your spare time, this can take the form of anything that you are interested in, it should be invigorating and also be a form of relaxation, hobbies can also educational, enjoyable fun to perform and exciting. A hobby should be something you take pleasure in doing, something that you are good at, positively motivating and at no time be boring or depressing neither too stressful as this will create negative emotions. Some hobbies are social events in which you participate and interact with a team or friends and some are considered personal whereby you reflect and enjoy by yourself.

People have multiple hobbies in which they participate in some of my hobbies are reading, cycling, fishing, football, dancing, cricket and motor racing. I use reading for academic elevation, to increase my knowledge making me more educated. This acts as a form of relaxation and is good to maintain mental sharpness and keep the brain active in turn assist me to be a better writer. This is one of my personal hobbies and is enjoyed in the silence of my home or by the seaside under a shady tree. Hobbies are necessary for mental relaxation. The more strenuous life becomes, the greater will be the longing for some refreshing hobby. After a day’s hard work, it is a real treat to divert our mind with something inessential but highly interesting, something in which success is welcome but failure will not matter. In selecting hobbies, certain elementary principles should be observed. One must select a hobby that a pleasing to one’s self. How often have we had occasion to curse a neighbor who has adopted music as a hobby. He inflicts on others something annoying to them. A hobby is extremely personal; it is quite possible that to others it will not appear pleasant at all. The truth is that one must not intrude one’s personal hobbies on other people’s attention. One should be careful not to select a hobby that is too expensive. For them it will become a burden. Even hobbies should have some social aim.

They should be creative. A purely personal hobby may promote selfishness and feeling of isolation. Last of all, one should not try to make hobby his profession. G. B. Shaw calls that man fortunate who can earn from his hobby. But in that case his hobby will not prove as interesting. A hobbyist’s joy is known only to himself. It fills his idle hours. It may draw around him a circle of friends who cultivate the same hobby. It gives one that indefinable joy, the joy of personal satisfaction. Another joy it gives is equally pleasant, the joy of forgetting personal cares and worldly anxieties.

It is a relief from the boredom or drudgery of one’s daily life. An important thing to guard against is that a hobby must never become an obsession or a passion. Let him not be a man with a single interest outside which he cannot think or speak. When a hobby becomes a passion or addiction, it may make a man unmindful of his duties or responsibilities. It is as bad as drinking or gambling. Hobbies are meant to diversify the monotony of daily routine, more than this they must never become obsession. Remember that a hobby is a walking stick, not a crutch to lean on.

Why soccer is my hobby. Everybody has different hobbies that he or she would like to do for fun or relaxation. They can be either physical activities like jogging, football, swimming, skateboarding or mental activities like reading, watching movies, playing computers and depend on each personality. For me, soccer is my hobby because its part of my life and I cannot live without it. Living in country like Vietnam, soccer is the king of sport. That is why it is not surprising that my childhood has grown up with the soccers ball until today.

My mom told me that I liked kicking the ball around and had so much fun with it when I was only about two years old. Since then, playing soccer is my favorites sport and it is my hobby whenever I have free time. It is interesting and amazing, especially the feeling when I score a goal or my teammates do it. That feeling fulfills in me like I have just archived something very important. Playing soccer also helps me to relax and be confident when I have stress and frustration. Besides, I meet new friends from the neighbor. I not only like playing basketball, but I also enjoy watching basketball on television.
