In the same respect, I believe that there are such things as key negative traits that prevent employees from reaching their goals. I have used a specific strategy and intervention to develop my employees, reverse their key negative traits and create a goal oriented successful atmosphere. A strategy that employ to develop my employees are objective attainment reviews. My company has developed an objective attainment process that empowers employees to own their successes.

They are the key decision maker in developing their objectives and they are the sole owner of these objectives. I personally sit down with my staff and ask them what they think their objectives should be for the year. I feel it is imperative that they “own” their own success. We set objectives that are attainable yet challenging. Also help set task points along the way so that they objective doesn’t seem overwhelming. When each task point is reached, we review the objective to ensure that it is still attainable and the employee has no obstacles in completing the objectives.

When objectives are met, completed and successful, the employee understands that they reached this goal. An intervention that I employ to motivate and influence my employees to help them accomplish their goals is sharing information about my own goals and ideas with them. In order to get the employees to open up and tell me about their true career goals and feelings about their work, I feel it is important to share those things with them. Keep in mind that my personality determines how I truly think about things and my optimism comes out when I share information.

I feel that eating the way through positive, optimistic thought can give each of them a can do attitude. Conclusion Leading my employees to not only their success but my own is, in itself, a goal. Through the power of positive thought and reinforcement, can influence and motivate my team to be better people and lead the way in the organization. In order for any organization to be successful, leaders must be developed through what they already have, their winning personalities.
