Productivity among all facets of some companies upends on investing in IT advancements.

I think it is a good idea to include a business case because it gives you a chance to review the idea before you launch a project. You may discover that it may not be in the best interest of the company, or a good use of resources, money or time. It gives you an idea on whether the project is worth investing in.
